Looney Tunes often misspelled as Looney Toons is a popular series of animated short stories from the house production of Warner Bros. The initial characters of Looney Tunes were Bosko and Buddy Adventures which were showcased along with the Warner Bros own musical compositions. Later, with the passing of time more characters were introduced in the family of Looney Tunes like Bugs Bunny, Daffy Duck, Goopy Gear, Porky Pig, Beans Cat, Ham and Ex, Petunia Pig, Egghead, Sniffles, Inki, Elmer Fudd, Little Blabber Mouse, Bookworm, Cecil Turtle, Sylvester and Tweety. They created sensation in the American Animation world and Looney Tunes Characters were loved by young and grown up ones.
Looney Tunes characters attained immense fame as the time passed. Recently, TV Guide honored them as best and greatest cartoon of all the time out of 60 nominees. Some of my favorite and loved Looney Tunes Characters are-
Bugs Bunny is a funny and fun loving character which is also a corporate mascot of Warner Bros. This gray rabbit is a trickster and famous for his imposter behavior in the musical animated short stories in Looney Tunes. The catching phrase of Bugs Bunny is “Eh, What’ up doc?” is famous for its New York Accent and carrot chewing attitude. The Looney Tunes character was first appeared in A Wild Hare which was released in 1940 by Leon Schlesinger Productions which is now known as Warner Bros Productions. The film attained huge success when it was aired with Elmer Fudd as a hunter and Bugs Bunny as a tormentor.
Being elder to Bugs Bunny, Daffy Duck is a large black hair duck with sweet and friendly tone and sometimes rival of Bugs Bunny. Daffy was first appeared in Porky’s Duck Hunt airing in April 1937. Looney Tunes series showcased Daffy Duck for 133 short and full length films which made him one of the most frequent occurring Looney tunes character. Daffy Duck is a friendly duck and loved by all, although the counterpart Bugs Bunny act as his rival and both are portrayed as enemy of each other in the Looney Tunes Cartoon shows.
Porky Pig is the elder most in the Looney Tunes family. He was starred in approximated 150 short films by Warner Bros. Though, this cute, slim and very healthy Porky Pig was loved by all, but his stardom was short lived. After featuring of Daffy Duck in 1937, Porky Pig felt sidekick and lost his name in the world. Though, Looney Tunes lovers still love him and keep his posters with Looney Tunes Characters.
